Newest review on HAWK

Ms. Hepner's newest book entitled HAWK contains two stand alone short stories.

In the first story, “Hawk” revolves around the investigation of the mysterious disappearance of a young Native American.

A man is born with integrity; whether or not he has it when he dies, depends on how he lives his life.

Hawk lives for the truth. His Native American heritage has greatly influenced his perception of the world. His parents raised him with a strong moral upbringing that continues to guide him. His reputation as a defense attorney has remained untainted in the face of dirty politics. His intimidating character is matched by his strong body.

Meanwhile, Cassie is born to an English mother and Native American father. To her, nothing matters more than her family. So, when she learns that her seventeen-year-old brother, Jason, is detained by the police without any information on his whereabouts, she vows to exhaust all measures to get him out of jail. And she knows only one man who can help her—Hawk.

In the days to come, Hawk will discover the mystery behind Jason’s incarceration, which involves powerful names in the police force and district attorney’s office. Despite the challenges, nothing will deter Hawk. He will do it for justice—and for love.

“Hawk” may appeal to readers interested in suspenseful investigative stories with a touch of romance.

In Ms. Hepner's second story, “Sloane”, we find the investigator in “Hawk” that helped to find and bring the criminals to justice has his own story to tell.

Sloane is a recurring character of Ms. Hepner's that has strong morals and a sense of duty to right the wrongs of the underdog.

As he protects a battered wife and her two developmentally delayed children from the ex-husband that is determined to finish the job, Sloane finds that life with his dog Clancy is about to change.

There are several layers to this story that will touch the reader deeply as you pray that the women and children residing in the Transitional Living Center will find a life free of abuse—with the help of Sloane.
