The Lake House was so relaxing I'm sorry to say I did not want to come home! The weather was perfect and the beauty of the lake was awe inspiring to say the least, but all good things have to come to an end sometime.
The trip home was probably one of the worst ever...a three to four hour drive turned into nine long hours. It seems someone thought it smart to flip a cigarette onto a semi truck hauling hay and it became engulfed in flames which in turn ignited a field along the I-5. Well, traffic was at a complete stop for several hours and then we were detoured around the fire which took a couple of hours also. According to my new navigation system, I left the Lake house at 12:40p.m. and was to arrive home at approximately 4:10 p.m. I crawled through the door at 9:05 p.m.
The good part was that my sweet husband was waiting with open arms, a hot cup of coffee to sooth the headache that was mounting at my temples, and the bedroom air-conditioner in the on position. What a prince! The kids were tired so they went straight to bed and even Sophia, our Pom-Chi, went straight to her crate and slept.
All in all...it's good to be home.
Prayers,
Cindi
